During the period between June 17 and June 23, 2019 members of the GRPD handled 280 calls for service, the highlights of which included:

06-17-2019 - 4:21 PM – A Boston woman reported discovering apparent forced entry to the rear door of her brother’s home located on the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue.  The house had been vacant for the last month and it could not be determined if anything was removed. The scene was processed by crime scene detectives from the Bergen County Sherriff’s Department BCU Unit and Glen Rock Detectives.  A further investigation will take place when the resident returns home at a later date.  

06-18-2019 - 3:39 PM – Patrols were dispatched to the 200 block of Elmwood Avenue to back-up two Probation Officers from the NJ Superior Court Bergen Probation Division. The Probation Officers were conducting a home visit when they intervened in a dispute between a Glen Rock woman and her house guest, both of whom are on probation. Glen Rock Officers remained on scene to keep the peace while the Probation Officers continued their investigation.

06-22-2019 - 8:59 AM – Patrols were dispatched to reports of a physical altercation in progress in front of CVS at 175 Rock Road. Upon arrival they located two individuals, a 43-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man both from Fort Lee, who stated that they were merely expressing their frustrations that CVS did not have cigarettes.  Neither showed any sign of injury and both claimed that no assault took place. The matter was documented, and both were dispersed from the area.  

06- 23-2019 - 6:59 AM – Responding to a concerned citizen’s complaint of an erratic driver on Lincoln Avenue, P.O. John Tarantino located at stopped the subject vehicle on Lincoln Avenue at the Ridgewood border.  Subsequent to that stop he arrested a 27-year-old Belleville man for operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of Marijuana and the passenger, a 28-year-old Newark man for possession of Marijuana under 50 grams.

Both were transported by to police headquarters where they were process and released on their own recognizance.  The driver was issued additional traffic summonses for reckless driving and obstructed view. His vehicle was impounded in accordance with John’s Law.
