During the period between September 29, 2019 members of the GRPD handled 273 calls for service, the highlights of which included:
09-24-2019 - 8:48 AM – A resident on the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue reported discovering images on his home video surveillance system showing that an unknown individual entered onto his property at 2AM. The subject, who appeared to be a dark-skinned male with long dark hair pulled into a bun and dark facial hair, entered onto the resident’s porch where he paused for a brief period and then left the property. Nothing on the resident’s property appeared to be disturbed.
09-24-2019 - 12:46 PM – A resident on the 200 block of Gramercy Place reported that someone entered their unlocked vehicle in their driveway overnight. Items were moved around inside the vehicle, however, nothing appeared to be missing.
09-24-2019 - 12:46 PM – GRPD responded to a report of a man in a silver SUV exposing himself to two adult women walking their dogs on Cornwall Rd. The individual involved has been identified, he is currently not at large nor a threat to the community. All appropriate and necessary steps are being taken to deal with this situation.
09-24-2019 - 1:27 PM – A Glen Rock woman reported that she had fallen victim to a scam when she received a phone call from an individual claiming to be a bank representative attempting to verify an account opened in her name. The caller was so convincing that she provided them with her personal information, including texting him a photo of her social security card. The caller then asked to woman to buy gift cards and send him the code on back of the cards. At this juncture she realized that she had been the victim of a scam.
09-26-2019 - 11:19 AM – Officials at the Glen Rock Middle School contacted the Glen Rock Police Department concerning two swastikas drawn in pencil in a boy’s bathroom located in the Middle School section of the building. The matter is currently under investigation by D/Sgt. Jim Calaski who has made all appropriate notifications. The school has also reached out to parents and is following up with the student body.
As of this time, there is no evidence to support that this incident is related to the swastikas found at the school during the previous school year.
The Glen Rock Police Department is proceeding with the investigation in accordance with the enhanced Bias Incident Investigation Standards issued by Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal earlier this year.
09-29-2019 - 3:03 AM –During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 North, Sgt. Bryan Scott arrested an 18-year-old Bronx NY man for possession of marijuana under 50 grams. He was transported to Police HQ where he was processed and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court. He was also issued traffic summonses for unsafe lane change, careless driving, and operation of a motor vehicle while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
The passenger, a 19-year-old man also from the Bronx, was charged with possession of Marijuana under 50 grams. He, too, was processed and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court. A 22-year-old Wyckoff man was issued a traffic summons for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate a motor vehicle.
