GLEN ROCK, NJ – Several individuals were arrested for distributing drugs and possession of drugs via social media, along with making local deliveries, police said.
Police were able to confirm the activity and then learned of a potential deal scheduled to take place in Glen Rock on the evening of May 21.
As a result, police arrested two Clifton men and one man from Passaic in a parking lot adjacent to the Rock Road Central Business District on May 21 just prior to 9 pm. Officers recovered just over an ounce of marijuana and hash oil cartridges for vaping, which were being offered for sale.
Chief Dean Ackermann states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Police arrested Mutaz M. Saleh, 24 of Clifton; Musbah N. Zakkour, 24 of Clifton; and Justin W. Cortese, 22 of Passaic. These actors were charged with one count each of possession with intent to distribute more than one ounce of marijuana; possession of narcotics with intent to distribute; and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
Cortese was also charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams when officers discovered him concealing an additional amount of marijuana on his person.
All three were processed at Glen Rock Police Headquarters and released on their own recognizance pending an appearance before Central Judicial Processing at the Superior Court in Hackensack on June 12.
"This arrest should serve as a reminder to parents of the importance of monitoring their children’s social media and smart phone activity," police said.
