GLEN ROCK, NJ – The Borough has decided to continue to sound the siren when there is a fire call after neighbors complained of the shrill noise.
Mayor Bruce Packer brought it to the attention of the Council after residents complained.
“This is a small inconvenience,” Councilman Mike O’Hagan said during the July 24 work session. “No disrespect to those who have to hear it, but God forbid, these heroes need to get called out to a loved one’s house and they miss the call because they didn’t hear the siren.”
While technology has advanced during the time since the siren was installed, Council President Kristine Morieko said “sirens are always what work.”
