GLEN ROCK, NJ - It's not usual to be a victim and walk off with gold chains, but that's what Glen Rock police are now trying to figure out.
On Aug. 8 at approximately 6 p.m., a Glen Rock woman told police that strangers gave her two gold neck chains as she was walking along Lincoln Avenue near William Place.
The woman said a white vehicle pulled over to talk to her, and she engaged in conversation with the male driver. According to the police, the driver told the woman he was a millionaire from Dubai and a female passenger in the vehicle handed the woman two gold neck chains.
Police said the woman tried to give the chains back, but the occupants of the vehicle insisted that she keep them and then drove away.
Patrol checked the area for the vehicle which was not located, and the woman was advised that the suspicious incident would be documented.
