FAIR LAWN, NJ - Fair Lawn for All Ages (FLFAA) is a new age-friendly community initiative funded by a grant from the Henry and Marilyn Taub Foundation. Age-friendly communities are making a conscious effort to encourage active aging, a place that provides opportunities for such things as good health, inclusion and security. It's a place that enhances the quality of life for people as they age.
Fair Lawn joins other Bergen County towns like Ridgewood, Westwood, Englewood, Teaneck and Garfield who have been piloting this program with great success over the last several years, and we are proud to be able to bring the initiative to our town.
We believe that an Age-Friendly community is one for ALL ages. Our thought is that whether it's a park bench, walkable sidewalks, adequate transportation, fair housing options, entertainment and activities, or excellent health services, these things will help not only our older residents but our residents of ALL ages... thus our initiative was coined, "Fair Lawn for All Ages."
FLFAA is working closely with NYU Langone Health to conduct a community survey to help us identify the needs of our growing older adult community. We are interested in hearing from all Fair Lawn residents 55 years and older, so please take a few minutes to share your feedback!
