FAIR LAWN, NJ - The Fair Lawn Sunrise Rotary is sponsoring an informational meeting to discuss current sports parenting issues on December 4.
Jack Smithlin, Fair Lawn Hall of Fame Coach and current Montclair State University softball coach, is speaking on issues that affect parents with athletes.
Topics covered include what's the right age to specialize in sports, to playing on travel or club teams as a determinant for success, to the unknown secrets of college recruiting.
The event is scheduled for Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Fair Lawn Community Center, 10-10 Kipp Street. See attached graphic for ticket information.
Rick Wolff, a nationally recognized expert in the field of Sports Psychology and Sports Parenting, is scheduled to introduce Smithlin and will stay and autograph his latest book, "The Secrets of Sports Psychology Revealed" at the conclusion of the program, according to organizer and Fair Lawn Sunrise Rotary member John Cosgrove.
Smithlin recently hosted a similar discussion on WBGG 1240 Sport Radio. He has appeared several times as a guest on WFAN’s Sports Edge Program hosted by Wolff.
