NEW YORK, NY - The National Weather Service reports that rain, heavy at times, will continue in the area to about noon today. This afternoon temperatures will drop to around 25 and remain below freezing for the rest of the day and into Monday.

These temperature drops produce a condition called 'black ice" - the road may appear wet but is actually frozen, resulting in mororists losing traction. 

Sunday's high is expected to be around 41, for Sunday night, temperatures will drop to the single digits.

On Monday, expect a mostly sunny day with a high near 15, while Monday night will see temperatures drop into the single digits. 

For Tuesday, the day is expected to be sunny with a high near 28.
