RARITAN TWP., NJ - The 43rd Annual Hunterdon County Senior Art Exhibition is now on display at the Hunterdon County Senior Center.
The Senior Center is located at 4 Gauntt Place here. The exhibition is in the large auditorium, located downstairs in the Senior Services building.
The exhibition includes 115 works of art created by 53 artists. Seniors from 21 municipalities are represented in acrylics, drawings, mixed media, oils, pastels, photographs, sculpture and watercolors. Each artist may enter two pieces of work and, if they like, may also enter a piece in the Scenes of Hunterdon section. All first-place recipients in each category will have their work displayed and judged at the state level on Sept. 18 in East Windsor.
The People’s Choice Award winner from last year’s submissions was announced, and Ed Ham won the popular vote for “Sunflower Girl.” Ham was awarded first place this year, for his non-professional pastel entry “Look at Me, I’m a Mermaid.”
Exercise and dance classes continue to be held in the location where the exhibition is being displayed and the teachers and class participants are enjoying the atmosphere.
The gallery is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from noon to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free and the display will continue through Wednesday, June 28. The building is handicap accessible with a ramp outside and an elevator inside.
