Audition for Belles

FLEMINGTON, NJ - Oldwick Community Players is seeking three actresses, ages 18 to 65 for a staged reading where no memorization is required and actors read from scripts.

Rehearsals for Belles will be held at Flemington DIY  at 90 Main St. here from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m on May 5, 6, 11 and 13.

OCP’s first staged reading will be Bellese by Mark Dunn. Belles tells the story of six southern sisters who, over the course of an autumn weekend, seek to bridge the physical and emotional distance between them via the telephone, and in the process come to terms with their shattered family history.

Belles was first presented on January 29, 1988, as winner of the Margo Jones playwriting award competition. It then entered the theatre canon as one of the most delightful and endearing plays about women and the bonds of family and continues to enjoy popularity to this day.”

The will be one performance only. It will be held at 2 p.m. on May 14 at the North Branch of the Hunterdon County Library North Branch at 65 Halstead St., Clinton.
