FLEMINGTON, NJ – A borough man who pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography has been sentenced to prison.

Adolfo Reyes-Aguayo, 39, was arrested in July after a joint investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit and Flemington police. He initially faced a second-degree distribution of child pornography charge and  a third-degree charge of possession of child pornography.

On Jan. 9, he pleaded guilty to the possession charge, according to an announcement released today by Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III.

Reyes-Aguayo was sentenced by Judge Angela F. Borkowski to three years in state prison. After he serves his sentence, he’ll be subject to deportation because of a detainer that is in place from the U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to the press release.

 “The exploitation of children is a heinous and devastating crime,” Kearns stated. “The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office is committed to apprehending child predators and ensuring that there are serious consequences for those who commit crimes against children.”
