RARITAN TWP., NJ - Highland Regiment will continue its membership drive and preparations for the upcoming summer season at Fleming-Reading Intermediate School, Feb. 18 and 19. The new group will also begin the audition and interview process for Drum Major positions.

“The corps is looking for one or two Drum Majors who will serve as on-field conductors and as off-field mentors,” said Director Philip Martin. “These positions require a variety of talents and strong character.”

One such leader will receive Highland Regiment’s “thistle mace” to carry while performing. It is a symbol of leadership and reflects the group’s Scottish identity. Further, when accepting the position, this special person will become a Lord or Lady of Glencoe reflective of a small parcel of land purchased on their behalf in a Scottish nature preserve. The title is theirs to keep and use wherever they go.
