LAMBERTVILLE – The annual Farm-to-Table Breakfast of the South Hunterdon Regional School District FFA Alumni Chapter will be Sunday, Nov. 24, 7:30 a.m. to noon.
It will be at the Lambertville Rescue Squad building, 70 Alexander Ave. off North Main Street. This is the major fundraiser for the alumni group, which supports Middle and High School students in the FFA program at South Hunterdon.
Proceeds go toward scholarships for graduating seniors, FFA class trips and competition expenses, as well as many other activities. The breakfast features produce from area farms, many of them operated by former South FFA members, and other chapter supporters. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for kids 8 or under.
The original group name, Future Farmers of America, was changed in 1988 to the National FFA Organization to reflect the growing diversity in agriculture and the fact that many members do not become traditional farmers.
