Fighter Jets Shatter Quiet as President Visits Bedminster

Fighter jets shattered suburban quiet Sunday.

FLEMINGTON, NJ — President Trump will be in Bedminster for the next few weeks and air space over the area has been mostly quiet since he arrived. But on Sunday, the sound of fighter jets was startling, with witnesses reporting the jets both in the morning and afternoon.

Contrary to articles being shared on social media that are actually from 2012, the jets had nothing to do with the UN General Assembly — it convenes in September.

Eyewitnesses saw a jet fly up from a lower altitude in the path of a small Cessna on Sunday. The jet circled the Cessna, and did it again. The plane made a hard left and flew south.

Temporary flight restrictions (TFR) are in effect through August 17.

NORAD published on Friday, "PILOTS! There is a #TFRestablished for Bedminster, NJ, starting today. Be sure to check for potential Federal Aviation Administration #NOTAMS in your flight path before taking off!
#TFRAlert #FlySafe #FlySmart#BeAware #WeHaveTheWatch"

When aircrafts get too close and don't respond, the fighter jets show up.

The 72nd Regular Session of the UN General Assembly will convene at UN Headquarters on Sept.12. The General Debate will open on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Editor's note: This article has been updated to include that witnesses heard the jets both in the morning and afternoon.

One Week, No Power in High Bridge

March 9, 2018

To the editor:

There are those of us in Hunterdon County that are still without power almost one week past the first storm. JCP&L has repeatedly changed the time and date of restoration. The spokesman flat-out lied to you when he said all 10,000 customers in Hunterdon would have power restored by Wednesday at 10:30 p.m.

I live on Thomas Street in High Bridge. My husband, multiple ...
