RARITAN TWP., NJ -  A Fit for Cancer community challenge to benefit Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center is scheduled for Saturday, March 16.

Gyms from across Hunterdon will be joining together in a program that is structured to be a physical challenge, but a safe one. All funds raised will benefit the Cancer Center

The participating gyms are Hunterdon Health and Wellness Centers in Clinton Township and Whitehouse Station; Hunterdon County YMCA in Raritan Township and Annandale; HealthQuest in Raritan Township; CKO Kickboxing In Flemington; I Love Kickboxing in Somerset; Healthy U Fitness Studio in Whitehouse Station; Riegel Ridge Community Center in Milford; CrossFit Power Hour in Lebanon; ASDC CrossFit in Flemington; Body Revolution by LJ in Whitehouse Station; Velocity Cycling Studio in Lebanon; and Gibson’s Gym in Washington.

Hunterdon Health and Wellness Centers will offer participants a morning three-hour power cycle from 8 to11 a.m.; an afternoon three-hour power cycle class from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Clinton/Whitehouse Station); a three-hour Zumba dance class (Whitehouse Station) will also be offered from 8 to11:00 a.m.; a Mind, Body Experience from 9 a.m. to noon (Whitehouse Station); a Warrior Challenge from 8 to10 a.m. which will include cardio, muscular strength, endurance and flexibility exercises (Clinton and Whitehouse); and a Les Mills Combo from 8 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (Clinton).

On March 15, Fit for Cancer Yoga will be offered at both Hunterdon Health and Wellness Centers from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The registration cost to participate is $40.  In addition, Chair Yoga will be offered Wednesday, March 13 in Whitehouse Station from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and Friday, March 15 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  The cost to register is $20.00.

  Over the past 14 years, Fit for Cancer has raised more than $425,000 for Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center. The Center is a partner of Fox Chase Cancer Center. Its comprehensive services include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, clinical research, early detection and screening programs, support groups, educational programs, nutrition counseling, psychosocial support and cancer risk assessment. 

  Participants are encouraged to fundraise beyond the registration fee and prizes will be given to the top fundraisers.
