Flemington Man Facing Child Sex Charges

FLEMINGTON, NJ – A borough man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child.

The arrest was announced in a press release issued today by Hunterdon Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III.

Mykyta Pekov, 21, was charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

An investigation by detectives from Kearns’ Special Victims Unit and Flemington police revealed the crimes took place on or about May 1 last year and involved a child under the age of 16, the press release states.

Perkov has been released on his own recognizance with the condition that he have no contact with the victim and that he surrender his passport.  

Perkov is awaiting his first court appearance in Hunterdon County Superior Court.

Kearns said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with additional information to contact the Special Victims Unit at 908-788-1129.
