RARITAN TWP., N.J. - Eric Bridenbaugh of Flemington has joined the staff of Hunterdon Healthcare as the new Sports Medicine Coordinator.
Hunterdon Healthcare is the corporate parent of Hunterdon Medical Center.
Bridenbaugh will be working as the Athletic Trainer at Raritan Valley Community College and also be responsible for developing a sports medicine program with other colleges, high schools and middle schools as well as local community youth athletic leagues.
Bridenbaugh has been a National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) certified athletic trainer since 1991, and is a licensed athletic trainer in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In addition, he has level 1 Functional Movement Screening (FMS) certification. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University in May 1991, and his Master of Science degree from California University of Pennsylvania in May 1992.
Bridenbaugh has been a practicing athletic trainer for 27 years and has experience in many areas of athletics, including NCAA Division I and III athletics, and high school athletics. The majority of his career was spent as an athletic trainer at Rutgers University. During his time at Rutgers, he served as Director of Athletic Training Services in a Big East and Big Ten athletic department, overseeing a staff of 12 athletic trainers and a physical therapist.
His responsibilities were numerous, but included hiring staff, budget management, staff scheduling and event coverages, acting as a liaison for NCAA/Big East/Big Ten drug testing, arranging medical coverage with physicians and specialists, and coordinating education sessions for coaches and student-athletes. He served as the athletic trainer for men’s basketball for 15 years, and directly or indirectly served as an athletic trainer for over 20 different NCAA-sanctioned athletic programs. In addition, he was an Adjunct Professor for 15 years in the Exercise Science and Sports Studies department at Rutgers University.
