EAST AMWELL, NJ - The Hunterdon County 4-H and Agricultural Fair is underway at the fairgrounds here on Route 179, just outside of Ringoes.
The weather for this year’s fair has been favorable, and there’s been a crowd at the fair every day, according to a fair spokesperson this afternoon.
Today’s highlights include the Arestov Family Acrobatic Show at 4 p.m.; the Farm to Table Auction and the Battlebots tournament, both at 5 p.m.; the Stone Hearth Band at 6; and the Mummers Polish American String Band at 8 p.m.
This is the 17th annual staging of the event here, which has a full schedule of activities through the weekend. More than 50 acts, activities, bands and groups will appear on the Main Stage and there are several dozen shows and contests.
The fair is the successor of the Flemington Fair, which was first staged in 1940 at the original fairgrounds, which is now where Lowes and Walmart are located in Raritan Township. The fair’s current site is where the Ringoes Drive-In movie theater once stood.
