Historic Preservationist to Host Educational Program

RARITAN TWP. –  An educational program on redevelopment in Flemington will be held at the headquarters branch of the Hunterdon County Library on May 12.

The program will be hosted by Carla Cielo, an historic preservation consultant. It is sponsored by a group called Sponsored by the Friends of Historic Main Street.

Among the topics Cielo will address are:

• Is the proposed new construction right for the future of Flemington?

• Should other solutions such as adaptive reuse be considered before the proposed plan is accepted?

•What are the possible long term results (positive and negative) of the proposed plan?

Examples of redevelopment techniques used in other towns and cities will be illustrated.

The headquarters branch of the library is on Route 12 here. The program will begin at 7 p.m. and seating is limited.
