FLEMINTON, NJ – Is vaping safe?
That’s the topic of a special program that will be held by Hunterdon Behavioral Health’s Intensive Family Support Services.
Vaping is the inhaling of a vapor created by an electronic cigarette. This program will discuss the potential health effects of vaping, whether or not you can quit smoking using a vape, and ways to quit smoking.
The program will be led by Elizabeth Manner, a licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist, and an addictions counselor at Hunterdon Behavioral Health.
The program will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13 in Meeting Room C at Hunterdon Medical Center. HMC is located at 2100 Wescott Drive just off Route 31 in Raritan Township.
Intensive Family Support Services assists families in their understanding of psychiatric disorders and the effects upon family life. Its goal is to form a collaborative, therapeutic alliance with families so that they can increase their knowledge, as well as coping and communication skills. IFSS consults with families about their individual needs. The counselors work with families to reduce isolation, stigma, and increase their understanding of mental illness. IFSS is crucial to families so that they do not feel overwhelmed during a time of crisis.
