House and Garden Tour is Scheduled


TEWKSBURY, NJ - The first Biennial Historic House and Garden Tour, co-sponsored by the Tewksbury Historical Society and the Garden Club of Hunterdon Hills, takes place on Saturday, June 10, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.

The first floor of four houses and the property of five gardens will be open. Houses with fascinating histories include an 18th century stone house, a 19th century clapboard house and a converted church. The gardens are varied and unique, including a waterfall on a trout stream and a grandchild's garden.

Advance tickets are $40 until June 7 and $50 on Tour Day, June 10.  Visit for ticket order forms or for on-line ticket purchases.

All tickets, including advance purchases, and maps are to be picked up at THS Headquarters, 60 Water St., Lebanon (Mountainville) 08833 on June 10, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. For inquiries, call Society HQ at 908-832-6734.

There are those of us in Hunterdon County that are still without power almost one week past the first storm. JCP&L has repeatedly changed the time and date of restoration. The spokesman flat-out lied to you when he said all 10,000 customers in Hunterdon would have power restored by Wednesday at 10:30 p.m.
