BASKING RIDGE, NJ - Jake Stapert scored two goals to lead Hunterdon Central to a 4-1 ice hockey victory over Pingry on Thursday.

Peyton Miller's first-period goal with assists from Nicolas Mastropaolo and Darin Michaels gave the Red Devils (3-5-1) a 1-0 lead which held up until the second period.

After Pingry (6-2-1) tied the game, 1-1, Stapert's first goal gave Hunterdon Central a 2-1 lead in the second period. He extended that lead to 3-1 in the third period before Central finished off the scoring with an empty net goal by Michaels in the final minute.

Michaels finished with two assists and Tom McVetty, Jack Schnack and Miller each had one assist. Jack Menichillo starred in goal for the Red Devils, with 37 saves.
