Hunterdon Central Soccer Star Turns Pro

RARITAN TWP., NJ – A former Hunterdon Central High School student who helped the school’s varsity soccer team earn its first Group IV State Championship has gone pro.

Brian White was chosen by the New York Red Bulls soccer team as its 16th pick in the first round draft.

The Township Committee honored White with a proclamation honoring his “leadership, determination, and dedication in the pursuit of academic and athletic excellence” at its meeting last week.

White attended Duke University, participating as a four-year starter for its soccer team. He earned 2017 ACC All-Academic, ACC All Men’s Soccer Team and Third Team All American honors. He graduated with a political science degree in three-and-a-half years, the proclamation states.

Before Hunterdon Central, White played in local youth soccer teams, including the Greater Flemington Soccer Club, Player Development Academy and Red Bull Youth Soccer.
