FLEMINGTON, NJ - HART Commuter Information Services, the local non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable transportation, is now accepting registrations for Hunterdon County Bike to Work Week 2018.

This free annual event provides local commuters with a fun and engaging opportunity to leave their cars behind and consider bicycling to work instead. The event will be held this year from May 14 to May 18.

Participation in Hunterdon County Bike to Work Week is open to any individual 18 years or older who lives or works in Hunterdon. Participants may ride as many days as they choose throughout the week.

At the end of the week, cyclists will be asked to record their bicycle commute rides. Each recorded ride will serve as an entry into a prize drawing held at the end of the week. All participants who submit a completed tracking log will receive a commuter backpack, event T-shirt and swag.

Grand Prizes include a bicycle tour for two from Encore Rides, a swag bag from Adventure Cycling Association and a gift basket from the WaWa Community Giving Program. Gear and accessories from local bike shops are also included in the drawings.

Routing assistance is available for those unsure of the best roads to travel to their work site. An event Facebook page has been set up to assist cyclists interested in finding riding buddies. All participants are required to wear a helmet. High visibility clothing is strongly recommended for daytime and reflective clothing for evening. Daytime running lights are also highly recommended.
