READINGTON, NJ - One of the great things about Hunterdon County is the abundance of venues for outdoor music during the summer season. The Music Under the Stars concert season at Deer Path Park is one of those options, and the series will begin on Thursday, June 28 with a free pops concert by the Hunterdon Symphony.
Conductor Lawrence Kursar and the orchestra members have chosen a number of familiar selections from stage and screen, including Raiders of the Lost Ark, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars and Lord of the Dance. The program will also include selections from Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" and Mozart’s "Magic Flute," as well as a couple of patriotic marches.
The concert series will begin at 7 p.m. Deer Path Park is located at 120 West Woodschurch Rd. here.
The series of eight concerts sponsored by the county's Park Division continues each Thursday through August 16 and will include several tribute bands for groups such as the Eagles, Bon Jovi, and Billy Joel, as well as Hunterdon’s own barbershop chorus, the Harmonizers.
For additional information about scheduled performers and inclement weather location, visit the county's Parks and Recreation website.
