FLEMINGTON, NJ – The Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurant in Flemington has joined forces with Flemington-Raritan Education Foundation for the sixth annual March “Month of Giving” fundraising campaign, benefitting the foundation all through the month.
But tomorrow – Wednesday, March 30 – is the really big day. That’s when every single dollar spent at the restaurant will be given to the Flemington-Raritan Education Foundation. It’s what Jersey Mike’s calls its Day of Caring.
The offer is valid all day – for lunch, afternoon snack or dinner. Customers who choose to make an additional $5 donation will receive a free sub card for their next visit.
Customers who are in a hurry can phone their order in advance to 908-968-4198, or order online at www.jerseymikes.com to avoid the line.
The FREF was established on the conviction that children should have access to a wide variety of resources and learning experiences if they are to be prepared to be successful learners. With dollars raised through various fundraising activities, the FREF awards grants that support creative and sustainable educational initiatives that complement existing district curriculum. Their goal is to fund opportunities, equipment and experiences that would not otherwise be supported through the district budget. Currently, FREF is working on purchasing Chromebook covers for more 3,000 students in the K-8 district.
Last year, Jersey Mike’s nationwide initiative raised more than $3 million for 150 local charities; the 2016 goal is $3.5 million for more than 180 local charities. In 2015, Jersey Mike’s of Flemington raised almost $7,000 for Hunterdon Healthcare Behavior Health.
Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s has raised more than $14 million for local charities and has distributed more than 1.5 million free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
The Flemington Jersey Mike’s is on Reaville Avenue in the Circle Shopping Center, at the end opposite ShopRite. It is open tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
