Hunterdon Central Bowling coach, Eric Wasserman cited team member Jonathan Valko for Athlete of the Week. Recenlty, in leading the Hunterdon Central boys bowling team to wins over Phillipsburg, Watchung Hills, Warren Hills, and (previously undefeated} Warren Tech, Jonathan Valko rolled three-game series of 781, 759, and 771.
Over the nine games, Jonathan averaged 257, and in the recent match against Phillipsburg, Jonathan rolled the first PERFECT GAME in school history. Along with the record individual game of 300, his season average is currently 234 and he could be headed for a second school record for highest season average.
Bowling skills apparently run in the Valko family, as he and his twin brother Joseph have been bowling at West Hunterdon lanes in Frenchtown since they were very young--taught by their grandfather.
In honor of Jonathan's outstanding accomplishments, TAPinto is proud to name him Athlete of the Week.
