Lewdness Charge for Milford Man in Flemington Parking Lot

FLEMINGTON, NJ – A Milford man has been indicted on a lewdness charge related to an incident at a Reaville Avenue shopping center here.

Michael M. Downey, 51, was arrested by Flemington police on Dec. 23 after being notified of a suspicious person in a parked vehicle.

According to a press release today from Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, when police responded to the report, they found Downey “seated in his vehicle and masturbating.”

The indictment is on a fourth-degree lewdness charge. Downey was also given summonses charging him with having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, consumption of alcohol in a vehicle and having a suspended registration.  

Prosecutor Kearns added, “We will continue to be diligent in law enforcement to enforce the law and protect the quality of life in Hunterdon.”
