Pigturd Alley, Donkeytown, Part of Woman's Club of Tewksbury Special Program

TEWKSBURY, NJ - Shaun Van Doren will be the guest speaker and offer a special slide presentation at the March 7 meeting of the Woman's Club of Tewksbury Township. Men and women alike are welcome to attend.

Van Doren is President of the Tewksbury Historical Society. His presentation, entitled Tewksbury Place Names, will explore such town names as Apgar's Corner, Pigturd Alley, Donkeytown, Cokesburg, Porter's Mills and other interesting places. 

A knowledgeable and engaging speaker, Van Doren will reveal which of those locations still exist, which ones are known by another name, and which ones are lost forever – as well as other anecdotes about the town.

The event will begin with refreshments at 9 a.m., followed by the program and meeting. It will be held at Oldwick Manor, 163 Oldwick Rd. in Oldwick. Reservations are required; call 908-509-1855.

WCTT is open to any woman 18 years of age or older living in Tewksbury or the surrounding area.

There are those of us in Hunterdon County that are still without power almost one week past the first storm. JCP&L has repeatedly changed the time and date of restoration. The spokesman flat-out lied to you when he said all 10,000 customers in Hunterdon would have power restored by Wednesday at 10:30 p.m.
