Police Seek Suspect in Trail Incidents


RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Police are are investigating two separate incidents which occurred on the walking trails at Morales Park off of Capner Street.

In both incidents, lone females were walking on the trails when they were approached by a Hispanic male. He made generic small talk to start a conversation with the women.

In one incident, the man asked the woman for help finding a cell phone signal. In the other, he started a conversation with the woman about the dog that she was walking.

In both incidents, the man grabbed and squeezed the woman’s buttocks before leaving the area on foot, police said. One incident occurred in the mid-afternoon while the other occurred in the evening.

In both incidents, the suspect was described as follows:

  • Hispanic male in his 20s
  • Approximately 5’2” to 5’7” tall
  • Medium build
  • Black hair
  • Spoke English, but had an accent

Raritan Township police recommend that all female walkers on the trails use caution and be aware of their surroundings. They should walk in pairs if possible and have a cell phone. Police acknowledge that cell service service in the area is spotty.

The spokesman flat-out lied to you when he said all 10,000 customers in Hunterdon would have power restored by Wednesday at 10:30 p.m.
