FLEMINGTON, NJ – Last night’s storm helped knock out power to hundreds of homes across Hunterdon.
Jersey Central Power & Light is reporting about 900 customers without power this morning in locations dotted around the county. In the northern end of Hunterdon, some customers in High Bridge, Lebanon Township and Califon and without power.
Customers in Raritan Township, Delaware Township and East Amwell are also affected.
It isn’t clear how long it will be before power is restored. According to JCP&L, many of the trouble areas are awaiting the dispatch of repair crews. At one Raritan Township location, the company is reporting that it has requested additional crews to the site.
The National Weather Service is reporting the chance of more rain and thunderstorms today, which could hamper restoration efforts.
Last week, JCP&L released details on a $400 million plan called “Reliability Plus” to help reduce the number and length of storm-related power outages.
