RARITAN TWP, N.J. – The 2017 Raritan Township Community Day will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, at Lenape Park on Route 523. Rain date is the following day, Sunday, Oct. 8.

All non-profits within the township are welcome to participate as booth exhibitors or entertainers, including sports teams, charities, clubs, school-related groups, township departments and committees, first responders and so on. Admission and parking will be free.

Last year's Community Day, the first in 11 years, was a huge success, organizers said, and this year's event is expected to be even bigger and better. Food trucks have been added, as well as free tethered hot air balloon rides (weather permitting) sponsored by the Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad. Many fun new activities, contests and games are planned. Entertainment, such as cheerleader exhibitions and school bands, is welcome. Participants are encouraged to provide an activity, such as face-painting, games, contests, or giveaways. It is a great fundraising opportunity for township groups.
