RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Raritan Township Police made several arrests at the beginning of July for drug possession and other offenses, according to this week's police blotter.
- Giancarlo Distefano, 19, and Rahul Kumar, 18, both of Flemington, were arrested July 1 by Sgt. Rob Landolina for possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrests were made at midnight near the pool in the Townsend development.
- Yasmin A. Rega, 64, of Lebanon, was arrested July 1 by Officer Anthony Moreno for allegedly shoplifting $327 worth of merchandise from Walmart.
- Inocente Daniel Garcia Torres was arrested July 7 by Det. Meg Hammond for illegally dumping. According to the report, Torres was illegally dumping landscaping material and trash in the dumpster owned at Atlantic Spring. The cost to empty the dumpster, the report said, was $600.
- Sgt. Rob Landolina responded to River Road near Case Boulevard July 11 at 3 p.m. for a motorcyclist who was on the ground. According to the report, Landolina checked on the rider, who was identified as Brent J. Foster, 34, of Flemington. In addition, Landolina found a partially consumed bottle of vodka, and Foster failed field sobriety tests. Foster was charged with driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest for pulling away from Landolina and attempting to flee the scene. There were no injuries during the arrest.
