RARITAN TWP., NJ - Many new and fun activities joined the traditional fare at yesterday’s Second Annual Community Day here.

That included the Dunk Tank and Raritan Township Fire Co. and Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad Tug of War.

Firefighters presented controlled burns, the Rescue Squad held an extraction demonstration, there was a State Police helicopter and an airplane flyover.

DJ Mike Aversano spun the tunes and there was live music by the Hunterdon Harmonizers. Flemington Falcons and Red Devils cheerleading performed and Parks and Recreation held a hula hoop contest.

A display of electric cars was also a big attraction.

The event was held in Lenape Park, with the township’s Office of Emergency Management organizing parking and traffic flow.

Based on this year’s success, plans are already quietly underway for next year
