RARITAN TWP., NJ – There has been a spike in burglaries over the last few weeks, according to a press release from township police.

The release issued by Raritan Township Police Lt. Kevin Donovan cautions both residents and visitors to lock their vehicles and avoid leaving “valuables in plain view.”

The burglaries have struck both vehicles and homes, Donovan reports. They have not been confined to one area, but instead the locations appear to have been chosen at random.

Donovan said that while it was not always the case, many of the homes and vehicles were unlocked or – in the cases of locked vehicles – had valuables “inside that were in plain view.”
