Replacement of Railroad Ties Will Impact Service on Raritan Valley Line

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Beginning Monday, Aug. 29 and continuing through mid-October, buses will replace weekday train service from 9:45 a.m. to 3:30 pm. between Raritan and High Bridge in Hunterdon County on the Raritan Valley Line for tie replacement work. 

Eastbound trains affected:

  • Train 5176 (12:18 p.m. from High Bridge, 12:48 from Raritan)
  • Train 5742 (3 p.m. from High Bridge, 3:29 p.m. from Raritan)

These trains will depart Raritan at their regular times.

Buses will depart High Bridge, Annandale, Lebanon, White House and North Branch earlier than the scheduled train time. 

Westbound trains affected:

  • Train 5719 (9:37 a.m. from New York, 10:06 a.m. from Newark)
  • Train 5175 (12:49 p.m. from New York, 1:08 p.m. from Newark)

These trains will operate normally to Raritan. All customers traveling beyond Raritan must transfer to buses.

Buses will arrive at North Branch, White House, Lebanon, Annandale and High Bridge later than the scheduled train times. 

Rail service will be available on Friday, Sept. 2 for early getaway; there will be no buses that day.
