FLEMINGTON, NJ - The Shannon Daley Memorial Fund is holding the 19th Annual Charity Basketball Event March 10, when the Readington Teachers and Readington Men's All-Star Team will take on the world-renowned Harlem Wizards.
The Harlem Wizards are one of the greatest basketball show-team organizations, and the performances, according to a release, offer a rare combination of individual athleticism, teamwork and entertainment for fans of all ages.
The Shannon Daley Memorial Fund has a mission to assist local families facing financial hardship because of a child battling a serious illness. The first recipients are 17-year-old Katie and 15-year-old Liz Moronski, of Morristown, who both have an allergic mast cell disorder.
The second recipient is 9-year-old Avery Moskowitz, of Monroe Township, who had stage 4 neuroblastoma, and the third recipient is 8-month-old Parker Biehl, of High Bridge, who has Pierre Robin Sequence. The fourth recipient is 7-year-old Tyler Nye, of Bridgewater, with Landau-Kleffner Syndrome.
The event is being held at Hunterdon Central Regional High School's fieldhouse, with game time at 7 p.m.
There are also business opportunities for advertisers, and more than 1,000 people attend. Ad rates are $1,000 for a full page, $500 for a half page and $250 for a quarter page. Donations of $50 or more will be noted in the program.
Advance tickets for the game are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Tickets at the door are $10.
