My name is Sharon Winnick and I am running for Raritan Township Committee.

When my family settled in the township in 1996, we were looking for a place to call home and to raise our family.  Raritan Township, having an award winning school system, an abundance of open green space, with a friendly and accepting community was the perfect match.   We felt right at home and enjoyed and participated in many of the community events.

I have tried to give back to the community whenever possible.  Many of you know me and have been on committees with me.

Whether working in the schools, volunteering at the hospital, community theater, helping to run a booth, religious services, visiting the sick or helping out in good times and bad, I have been there because we are neighbors who are there for each other.

Now it is my time to give back.

It is time to curtail unwanted sprawl.  We need to put speed bumps on local roads, which have become detours to avoid traffic. This endangers our children at play.

We need diversity of opinion on the committee.  One party rule does not allow for different ideas.

We want to preserve our way of life for our children and grandchildren.  We deserve a community that protects and enhances the quality of life for ALL of its residents.

I am honored to be endorsed by The Sierra Club, Flemington Raritan Education Association, Congressman Malinowski, Assemblyman Zwicker, and Assemblyman Freiman.

We deserve a Committee that represents all the residents. This is why I am asking for your vote on November 5th to make this happen.

Together we can make a change.

Thank you,

Sharon Winnick
