SOMERVILLE, N.J. - Quarterback Patrick Frauenheim led Immaculata over North Hunterdon Friday night, throwing key passes and piling up yardage on the ground on the way to a 21-13 victory, the Spartans second win of the season
Running back Jordan Kinsler scored two touchdowns..
After falling behind 7-0, Immaculata scored its first touchdown in the first quarter. The series of plays started with a 45-yard pass from Frauenheim to Pelton Esannason and finished with a Kinsler 5-yard run to tie the game at 7.
Immaculata would strike again on a 40-yard touchdown pass from Frauenhiem to Esannason midway through the second quarter. North Hunterdon would threaten again, but Esannason intercepted a pass as time expired, allowing the Spartans to take the 14-7 lead into halftime.
Neither team scored in the third quarter.
Frauenheim ran for 40 yards in the fourth quarter, setting up a 2-yard TD run by Kinsler to put the Spartans ahead 21-7.
North Hunterdon came back with only a little over 2 minutes left and scored a touchdown; Jacob Schmidt blocked the extra point attempt.
The Spartans closed out the game by running out the clock after picking up a few key first downs.
The Spartans defense was led by Donny Rivera and Tommy McGuire, along with key sacks by Christian Callahan and Esannason's interception.
Next week the Spartans will meet up against Scotch Plains on the road on Saturday at 1 p.m.
