FLEMINGTON, N.J. – A suspect has been taken into custody after the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office SWAT Team and High Bridge Borough police were dispatched to a High Bridge home yesterday afternoon.

A press release yesterday from Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III said that the matter was “safely resolved.”

This afternoon, Kearns said the standoff led to the arrest of an "armed suspect.”

Ronald R. Wetzel Jr., 59, of High Bridge, has been charged with second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and third-degree illegal possession of a shotgun, according to a press release from Kearns.

Kearns said in the statement that the investigation into the incident “is ongoing and additional information will be released when available.”
