WARREN, NJ - A teacher at Watchung Hills Regional High School has been arrested and charged with sending sexually-explicit photos and messages to a student at the school, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Sean DiGiovanna, 50, of Renfro Road, Somerset, New Jersey is charged with one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and one count of third-degree degree promoting obscene material to a child under the age of 18. He was lodged in Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing following his Oct. 10 arrest at the Warren Township Police headquarters.

On Sept. 11, Warren Township police received a report that a teacher at the Watchung Hills High School, identified as DiGiovanna, had sent sexually-explicit images of himself to a juvenile student.

Additionally, the student reported receiving electronic messages from DiGiovanna indicating he wanted to pursue a sexual relationship.

Communication data warrants were obtained by law enforcement for DiGiovanna’s cellular phone and social media accounts. Forensic examination of  DiGiovanna’s phone revealed the sexually-explicit images and text conversations reported by the student.
