BRIDGEWATER, NJ - No fewer than four Trump Truck parades will traverse state highways Saturday morning on their way to Somerset County for a massive rally in support of the president in Bedminster, according to organizers.
All four parades will converge on state highways that connect with the Somerville traffic circle.
Trump Truck parades have grown in popularity since the end of summer; an Oct. 11 parade that began in Flemington followed Route 31 before taking Route 206 north, passing through Princeton, Montgomery, Hillsborough, Somerville and Bridgewater before arriving for a rally in Bedminster, a few miles from Trump National Golf Club, visited frequently by the president since he was elected in 2016.
There are four staging areas in Parsippany, Mountainside, Flemington and the Somerset Shopping Center just off the circle at 395 Route 28, with vehicles ranging from tractor trailers and pick-up trucks to SUVs and motor homes arriving by 9 a.m. at each of the locations before hitting the road around 10 a.m.
The Flemington contingent will head north on Route 202 and travel 21 miles through Readington and Branchburg before entering Raritan, driving on the overpass above the Somerville circle between 10:15-10:45 a.m., according to organizers.
Those waiting in the parking lot adjacent to the traffic circle are expected to merge with the Flemington parade.
The Mountainside parade will head west on Route 22, exiting on to Route 202 heading to Bedminster, a distance of 26.5 miles.
The Parsippany parade will follow Route 287 south and take exit 30B on to Route 202, a distance of 19.4 miles.
"You can jump into any of the three parades at the Somerville Circle and take the ride to Bedminster," according to an overview of the day's events on the trumptruckparade.com website. "The parades will be expected to be crossing the circle at about 10:15-10:45 a.m. Parade routes can be viewed on the website.
All parades will end up at the Bedminster Trump Rally at the Clarence Dillon Library, on the corner of Route 206 at 2336 Lamington Road, Bedminster.
