RARITAN TWP., NJ – Police here arrested two residents after they said the two tried to shoplift a 50-inch television from Walmart on Route 31.

Danielle Houser, 31 and Dani Linton, 45, both of Flemington, were charged by Detective Scott Inglay on Feb. 2 after an investigation. The initial investigation was by Patrolman Adam Swiatek.

Police said they were called to the store around 5 p.m. Jan. 18 after a store detective reported that a man and woman had tried to shoplift the TV. Although the employee tried to stop the pair, they fled leaving the TV behind, according to police. The television was a Vizio valued at about $580.
