FLEMINGTON, NJ - Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Detectives Frank Modaffare and Lamont Garnes traveled to Pennsylvania State Correctional Institution in Collegeville, Pa. recently and took Ben Shaffer, 38, of Riegelsville, Pa., into custody. Working in conjunction with the Pennsylvania State Parole Board, Shaffer was arrested on a Hunterdon County warrant charging him with violation of probation and placed in Graterford Prison to await extradition to New Jersey.

According to a press release, Shaffer was originally convicted of third-degree possession of drugs, but failed to comply with the terms of his probation by not reporting, not paying fines and fees, and not performing community service as required.

The detectives lodged Shaffer in Somerset County Jail to await a hearing in Superior Court.
