YMCA Will Host Color Me Healthy Fun Run

Back by popular demand, the Hunterdon County YMCA will host the Second Annual Color Me Healthy Fun Run on Saturday, April 30 at the Y’s Round Valley Branch, 1410 Route 22 West in Annandale. This 1-mile challenge is suitable for the entire family. Last year, more thanr 200 participants joined in the event.

The event is open to all and Y membership is not required. Participants can register at either Y Branch or online at www.hcymca.org.  Registration fees are $10 members and $15 for others and adults and those age 12 and older. For kids ages three to 11, the cost is $5 for members and $10 for others. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants can register as a team. In addition, the 2 p.m. wave of the run will be pet-friendly. Leashed dogs that are up-to-date on vaccinations will be permitted.

“The Y wanted to create a fun run that would be suitable for the whole family and for all fitness levels. Last year’s Color Me Healthy Fun Run turned out to be an amazing event. It was a beautiful day and it was great to see family and friends enjoying colorful, active fun together,” said Teri Saccal, Y Senior Director of Healthy Living.

The first wave will begin at noon. Every wave after that will be staggered. All participants will be contacted one week prior to the event and informed of their projected start time. Participants are encouraged to wear white for maximum color effect. Official Color Me Healthy Fun Run white T-shirts are available for purchase at time of registration.
