FLEMINGTON, NJ – They're here! Flemington’s newest visitors have arrived.

The sculptures created by J. Seward Johnson arrived this morning. Their trip here was organized by Flemington Community Partnership as part of an effort to increase foot traffic to businesses.

The installation by staff from Grounds for Sculpture – where Johnson’s work is on permanent display – was a traffic-stopper. Passersby were curious about the visitors; many stopped to take selfies.

The first person to take a gag photo of a visitor was Tim Bebout of Main Street Manor Bed & Breakfast Inn. He spoofed the iconic cover of the Beatles' Abbey Road album as the woman who is now in front of Kries Jewelers was being placed.

The visitors car pooled to Flemington as a group of five. They took to the friendly borough here so quickly that they sought to extend their stay. Insiders say that Johnson has approved the request so that they can now remain through the December holiday season.

The sculptures are along Main Street, in front of the Flemington Library and on Stangl Road.

Editor's note: This article has been updated to include Tim Bebout's photo.
