RARITAN TWP., NJ – A community-wide celebration next month will inlcude food trucks, a performance by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra chamber ensemble, face painting, a raffle and more.

The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 5 by Hunterdon Hospice to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The activities will happen at Hunterdon Regional Community Health, which is located at 215 Rt. 31 South here, behind the Yesterday’s Treasures Thrift Shop. (Use Flemington for GPS.)

The fun will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will also feature live music, crafts, door prizes, games, a health fair and more.

In addition to the celebration, Yesterday’s Treasures thrift shop will be hosting its annual Fall Yard Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, with all proceeds benefiting Hunterdon Hospice, Inc.

At 1 p.m., there will be a dedication of the Hunterdon Hospice Memorial Garden to commemorate all those for whom Hunterdon Hospice has provided support and care through its 40 years of service to the community. All are invited to paint memory rocks that will be placed in the garden as a memorial to their loved ones.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or picnic blanket to enjoy the festivities. The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra chamber ensemble will perform from noon to 1 p.m. and there will be additional musical performances by local favorites, including Crossroads.

Since 1979, Hunterdon Hospice, has been providing patients and their loved ones the physical, spiritual and emotional support needed during the end of life journey. The Hunterdon Hospice, team includes physicians, nurses, social workers, Certified Home Health Aides, volunteers, pharmacist support, nutritionists, and physical and occupational therapy when appropriate.

Hunterdon Hospice is a non-profit, Medicare-certified organization providing hospice care in Hunterdon, Mercer, Warren, and Somerset counties. Additionally, bereavement services are available through bi-weekly support groups, youth art therapy and bereavement mailings. These services are open to all in the community.  At Hunterdon Hospice Inc, we do all that we can to help our patients live their final days with dignity, comfort & peace.
