April 25, 2019 -- Flemington, NJ, The Flemington Community Partnership (FCP) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Robin Lapidus has joined our team as Executive Director.

“We are extremely delighted and excited to have Robin take on the Executive Director position for the Flemington Community Partnership, said Bob King, FCP Board Chair. “We look forward to having Robin expand upon the very solid foundation that the FCP has achieved in the past few years. Robin’s experience and leadership qualities will help attract and further develop a thriving business community in Flemington for years to come.”

Robin is a NJ native, and a graduate of Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ. She graduated from Eugene Lang College in New York and earned a Masters’ of Education Degree from Harvard University. “I am so excited to be coming home to NJ, and thrilled to have the opportunity to share my experience in Flemington – a community with a rich historic past, and so many exciting opportunities for present success and future growth,” said Ms Lapidus.

Robin’s professional career has been focused solely on improving business districts. According to Bob King, “the FCP board was greatly impressed by the results achieved during Robin’s 20 plus years as a non-profit Executive Director in destination business areas.”

Over a 13-year period, Robin was the Executive Director and The Director of Marketing and Events of the Harvard Square Business Association in Cambridge, MA. She helped spearhead a multi-million dollar Capital Improvement campaign in Harvard Square comprised of public and private partnerships that addressed lighting and utilities, transportation flow, surface enhancements, landscaping upgrades, and plaza improvements.

Robin spent the next five years as the Executive Director of the Central Square Business Association in Cambridge, MA during an exciting period of growth and economic development. Robin was instrumental in the establishment of the state designated “Central Square Cultural District” and participated in the Central Square Advisory Committee resulting in a new plan for economic redevelopment in Central Square. The results included repurposing spaces for new businesses such as H Mart (a market with an international food court), new arts and performance spaces, maker spaces, a mix of restaurants and night-life, future housing and a “market” space, a new hotel and large bio-tech anchors Novartis and Takeda moving into former dilapidated industrial buildings.

She has spent the past two years as the Executive Director of the business association in Provincetown, MA rounding out her skills with an intensive focus on Tourism and Destination Marketing.

Robin has produced many signature events including Oktoberfest in Harvard Square, The Taste of Cambridge, Cambridge Jazz Festival, Summer Film and Arts Performance Series, Provincetown’s Annual Carnival Parade, and Provincetown’s first Pride Event.

Mayor Betsy Driver was pleased to hear of Robin’s hiring and stated, “Robin brings a range of experiences that will keep Flemington and the Community Partnership moving forward. I am excited to begin working with her and the FCP as the Borough embraces future exciting business development and I am confident her leadership will help Flemington thrive.”

Stakeholders and visitors will be introduced to Robin at upcoming meetings and events including the Vamos Flemington Health Fair on Saturday, April 27th, and the opening of the Flemington Filling Station on Friday, May 24th.
