Flemington, NJ — TAPinto Flemington-Raritan, the only independent news operation dedicated solely to covering Flemington-Raritan and the Hunterdon community, set a single-month record for readership in March.
The large increase in readership is directly attributed to the news site’s COVID-19 coverage, as we continue to coordinate daily news reporting of how the virus is affecting the Flemington-Raritan community.
In February, TAPinto Flemington-Raritan had 25,917 individual users who visited the site. The number of readers spiked to 43,006 in March, making the news site one of the most read among the entire TAPinto news network of more than 80 hyperlocal sites in three states.
Moreover, TAPinto Flemington-Raritan shattered its own record for page views recorded since January 2020. In February, the news site had 61,517 page views. In March, that number jumped to 112,428, an 83 % increase.
“This astonishing increase in readership indicates that Flemington, Raritan and the entire Hunterdon community is relying on TAPinto as the main source of accurate information,” said Joey Novick, publisher of TAPinto Flemington Raritan. “Audrey Blumberg--our Managing Editor-- and her news staff are doing a great job reporting how coronavirus is affecting the Flemington Raritan community each day. They have been working seven days a week to tell this ongoing story. We value the confidence the Borough and county have entrusted with our reporters. It is an obligation we take very seriously.”
Overall, TAPinto’s network of more than 80 local news sites in New Jersey, New York and Florida broke all readership records in March with 9,628,289 page views and 3,412,844 readers, an increase of 300% from February.
