FLEMINGTON, NJ - Beginning Friday, Mayor Betsy Driver is planning twice weekly council briefings to share the latest information on the COVID-19 situation.

The briefings will be held Tuesdays and Fridays at 4 p.m., and members of the public are invited to watch the livestream. The briefings will continue until the public health emergency has passed.

The first session will be March 31, and it will be broadcast using the GoToMeeting app.

Comments having to do only with COVID-19 can be emailed to publiccomments@historicFlemington.com. The public can also comment during the livestream by using the "chat" function on the GoToMeeting app.

The briefings are expected to be no more than 30 minutes, and there will be no action taken, as the agenda will be limited to discussion of COVID-19 only. As of Wednesday, the borough was reporting five confirmed cases of the virus, and 35 total in Hunterdon County.

There will also be a special Facebook Live session with the mayor and OEM coordinator Friday at 2 p.m.

In addition, all Flemington Borough Council meetings will be conducted through an electronic system for the time being.
